Work – Preparing for Work Form Time Activities
These teaching resources are a great addition to a work-related learning or careers programme of study. As individual activities, they can be uses as form time activities, recap exercise or combined when preparing for work experience placements.
Activity 1 – Interviews for Your Dream Job
Students work in groups of 3 to conduct interviews with each other. They are given a series of questions that each interviewee must answer and then the responses are assessed by a member of the group.

Being prepared is essential to career success, so in this activity, students must explore career options and work experience opportunities to complete the student worksheet.
Activity 3 – Transferable Skills
Students learn that different occupations may require the same skills, while others have very specific ones. In this activity, students will need to consider their own abilities and also identify those required for certain professions.
Activity 4 – Online Quiz
Students consider keywords that we associate with the work career, before completing an online quiz to explore their career motivations.
Activity 5 – My Transferable Skills
