How identifying and using your learning style can help to make the most of your revision.
Revision Form Time Teaching Resources
These resources are useful reminders about revision techniques for students at key stage 4, but are equally useful for those at key stage 3. In this series of 4 activities, students will pick up some useful tips on preparing for exams as well as how to handle themselves in the exam.
Activity 1 – Getting Started
As an introduction, students are reminded of the need to revise. They are also reminded what not to do, to learn from past experience and how to get started.
Activity 2 – What is Your Learning Style?
In this self assessment exercise, students will discover if they learn best by using auditory, kinaesthetic or visual methods. They then learn how to apply this to their revision programme.
Activity 3 – Learning Styles and Revision
In this lesson, students will recognise that there are different methods of learning and revising. They will have the opportunity to link the revision techniques to their preferred learning styles and practice different revision tips.
Activity 4 – In the exam
In the final exercise in this module, pupils will learn some key strategies for doing well in an exam and appreciate that an exam is an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge.
