What happens when you drink, form time activity.

This activity uses NHS information about the cumulative effects of alcohol. How would you feel after one drink? How would you feel after 10?

Topic Aims:

Learning objectives from the PSHE KS4 programme of study:

1.2 Healthy lifestyles: a. recognising that healthy lifestyles, and the well-being of self and others, depend on information and making responsible choices.

b. understanding that our physical, mental, sexual and emotional health affect our ability to lead fulfilling lives and that there is help and support available when they are threatened.

Learning Outcomes

Students understand the consequences of different levels of drinking.

Differentiate by learning style

This is a role-play exercise, but if students are uncomfortable taking part, they could present their information in a written or drawn format like a cartoon or newspaper article.

Differentiate by age or ability

This activity is suitable for all ages and most abilities. Younger students will need confidence to create role-plays.

Class control tip

Time is crucial in this activity. Time the devising period of 5 minutes strictly, and stress that all the role-plays need to be performed.

Run through the PowerPoint presentation, asking students to read from the slides.
