Topic Aims

This mini module contributes to the economic and personal well-being programme of study for KS4:

1.1 Career

a. understanding that everyone has a ‘career’.

b. developing a sense of personal identity for career progression.

c. understanding the qualities, attitudes and skills needed for employability.

2.1 Self-development

Students should be able to:

c. assess their needs, interests, values, skills, abilities and attitudes in relation to options in learning, work and enterprise.

2.2 Exploration

Students should be able to:

a. identify, select and use a range of information sources to research, clarify and review options.

2.3 Enterprise

Students should be able to:

a. identify the main qualities and skills needed to enter and thrive in the working world.

Learning Outcomes

Students learn about specific jobs in the tourism and leisure sectors and what they involve.

Differentiate by Learning Style

Students could act out the story clip instead of creating a voiceover.

Differentiate By Age or Ability

Split into groups of differing ability; mix the groups up so that older and more confident students are working with younger and less able individuals for best results.
