Enterprise week assembly
Introduce students to the definition of enterprise. Use in November or adapt for other suitable events.
More About the Enterprise Week Assembly Idea
The aims of this teaching resource are to introduce students to the definition of enterprise, help them understand why it is important and to stimulate ideas for the coming week. The assembly can be delivered to the whole school, or individual tutor groups and is easily adaptable if used at any other time of year.
The assembly poses the questions ‘what are enterprise skills?’ and ‘why is enterprise important?’ as well as addressing the importance of lateral thinking, for example (taken from the PowerPoint presentation) there are six eggs in a basket. Six people each take one of the eggs. How can it be that one egg is left in the basket? The answer to this can be found on slide 7 of the presentation!
This is an ideal platform to introduce students to the activities taking place in your school during enterprise week while reminding them about developing their own enterprise skills.
