Welcome Back Assembly Plan
Welcome Back Assembly Plan. To welcome students back and encourage them to reflect upon the coming academic year.
Welcome Back Assembly
Some secondary school subjects do not focus on tests and measures results, so it is important that students umnderstant that they must focus in every lesson in order to get the most out of their time in school. The welcome assembly provides some thoughts on how to go about this.
Here is an example from the teacher script
PowerPoint slide 3: Teacher: “The year ahead will be very demanding for you. Let us examine the areas in which personal targets will need to be reviewed and set. These include personal, academic and social targets.’
PowerPoint slide 4: Teacher: “Some students will be studying history this year. What do you think this quote about history means?” (Read from slide). “I think he meant that human beings don’t seem to learn from the past. We can learn from history and see how conflict and unhappiness comes from misunderstanding others, or trying to enforce our beliefs on others. We should direct some of our efforts this year in fostering better relationships with people we may encounter in our school community.”
