Identifying Skills - Teacher resources for Careers

During their studies, students will have developed a number of skills. Many of these skills will be of great value to them when seeking employment. So what are the most important skills that employers are looking for in job applicants?

This topic is divided into 2 sessions. In the first session we will identify and explain the main skills that employers say they value. In the second session we will consider some examples of how these skills can be demonstrated as part of your studies.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of these sessions, students will be able to:

  • Identify and explain at least 5 important skills as identified by employers
  • Provide examples of how students can/have demonstrated these skills as part of their studies.
