This lesson is a reflective exercise linking the options choices to target setting and looking ahead to year 10.
In this final options in year 9 lesson, students can again consider their choices and share their thoughts with partners and the teacher, hopefully ensuring the correct choices have been made and highlighting any outstanding issues.

More about the Year 9 Options 'Making the Choice' Careers Lesson
This lesson plan is the final in a series of four that looks at year 9 options for students going into their GCSEs. The students will look at their options as part of a bigger career plan and long term aspirations, and ensure that they are making the right choices to do what they really want to do.
This Key Stage 3 careers resource uses class discussions and picture-based worksheets to enable the pupils to identify and reassure them of their long term plans for higher education and/or a career. It also encourages the teacher to scope which areas need to be developed for the individual students to succeed in a particular course, and how that can be achieved.
Students are to bounce ideas off of each other in pairs work, and that will give them a platform to see that each one of them is different, to reflect on each individual’s aspirations and how realistic their aims are.
