Work-related Learning Resources for KS4

In July, many students go on a work placement. While this is not a compulsory part of the work-related learning curriculum, it is seen as extremely beneficial.

This series of teaching resources help in the preparation for the work experience placement by encouraging students to think about what they hope to gain from the experience.

Communication in the Workplace
The first activity is a useful lesson plan to introduce the different types of communication in the workplace that they might encounter. A series of role play exercises help to highlight the key learning outcomes of this lesson.

Work Experience Diary

To help students get prepared, we have created a student diary to complete before, during and after their placement.

Work Experience Agreement

This document should be completed and signed by both the student and employer to help set and achieve goals during the placement.

You can combine this series of lesson plans with our work experience assembly plan or interview skills teaching resources.
