Behaviour in the workplace - Work Experience Preparation

NB This activity is designed to be used with learners before they undertake work experience placements. If students have already completed work placements teachers will need to adapt the sessions.

The Big Picture

This topic is divided into two sessions. In part 1, students will consider a number of 'what if' scenarios which cover topical issues/questions which arise when on work placement/when you start a new job. Session 2 looks at how people act in the workplace alongside some of the legal issues relating to behaviour in the workplace.

The Learning Outcomes

By the end of these sessions students will:- Have considered a number of possible issues that may arise during a work placement
Understand their responsibilities and the expectations employers will have of them during their placement. Have a basic knowledge of the legal issues relating to behaviour in the workplace.
