4. I have received an invoice from www.teaching-resources-uk.com, what is it for?

The invoice will be for an annual subscription to www.teaching-resources-uk.com. This subscription means that the school can download lesson plans and activities for 12 months.

5. How do you subscribe to www.teaching-resources-uk.com?

The teacher whose name is on the invoice will have been contacted by phone, mailer or will have found us online. If they were called by our telemarketing team, they will have agreed to receive an email about the website over the phone. This email contains details of a 14 day free trial of the subscription. If they want to take the trial, they click through from the email to activate it. All the details of the trial, including cancellation and sign up procedures, are on this initial email.

If the teacher has taken a trial of the subscription after receiving a mailer, they will have signed a form and returned it to us agreeing to the trial conditions. *The most important terms and conditions relating to the trial and subscription are clearly printed on the bottom of all our mailers.

If the teacher has taken a trial of the subscription online, they will have come to our website and signed up for a 14 day free trial online. You can view the sign up page here. As you can see, the information about the 14 day trial, including cancellation requirements, is clearly stated on this single page.

6. The teacher wasn’t authorised to order this subscription.

Our sign up procedures and the Contract specifically require an acknowledgement from the relevant individual that they do have the appropriate authorisation; when an individual acknowledges/confirms acceptance of the terms and conditions they are also confirming they have the appropriate authority to do so.

7. The teacher forgot to cancel the 14 day free trial.

When teachers sign up online for a trial on our website here they go to a single page where they complete a simple online form which clearly states the following:

*Important information about your trial During your trial we will remind you of your trial end date. Please ensure that you contact us before the end date if you do not wish to become a member. At the end of your trial, we will automatically issue an invoice to your school for one year's membership.

Next to this information there is a large, clear link that takes the user to our full terms and conditions, which state:

5.1.4 it is your responsibility to cancel your free trial before end of the 14 day free trial period otherwise your registration will be processed and an invoice will be duly issued to your School for the annual membership fee at the rate then advertised on this website

The user then has to tick a box to proceed and agree to these terms and conditions.

In the initial welcome email the user receives as soon as they sign up for a trial, whether the trial comes from the website or a telephone call, we clearly state:

You have 14 days to download and try a selection of top quality teaching resources created by ASTs from the Teaching Rsources UK website. Have a good look, try them in your class, and see for yourself how well they work.

If you are happy and want to keep using them then simply carry on. We will automatically send your school an invoice when the 14 day trial period ends.

If you decide the resources are not for you simply email us at trials@teaching-resources-uk.com, or fax us on 0113 269 7889 during your trial period. Please be aware that if you do not tell us you want to cancel during your 14 day trial period (before it ends) your school will receive an invoice for membership.

Prior to the end of the 14 day free trial period, the user will be sent a reminder email which tells them when their trial period is up, and reminds them:

IF YOU DO NOT CANCEL your trial, you will be upgraded to full membership and an invoice will be issued to your school. This will be for either the membership cost of £249.99 for one subject for one years membership if you selected to trial a single subject, or £499.99 for full access to all subjects for one year's membership if you selected 2 or more subjects.

Depending on whether the trial is online, or arranged over the phone, the teacher will also receive a posted letter reminding them of their trial end date, and additional emails if they haven’t activated their trial online which also clearly states that they will be invoiced if they do not cancel the trial in time. We do not accept cancellations of subscriptions made after the trial end date.

8. The teacher has no purchase order number from the school.

As the Contract was made on our terms and conditions a purchase order number is not required, however, if this will speed up resolution of this matter, please provide one and we will resubmit our invoice as necessary.

9. The teacher says that the trial was activated as the result of an unsolicited phone call.

This is not possible. The trial itself can only be activated by the teacher clicking through from the email that is sent to them after an initial introductory phone call from one of our telemarketers. The 14 day trial itself cannot be activated by a phone call.

10. The teacher says that they have not accessed any of the resources available to them during their trial.

Our content management system can tell us exactly what people have accessed and when from www.teaching-resources-uk.com. However our terms and conditions clearly state that invoicing is not dependant on usage. PDC Education provide a flexible service for customers to use as and when they deem necessary during their period of membership. It is not a service that is charged by amount of usage. It is up to the customer to take advantage of their membership as they see fit.

11. The teacher wasn’t able to read the terms and conditions properly due to technical problems.

If this is the case they should not have confirmed that the terms and conditions were accepted as is required to sign up for the trial, and in any event we provide contact numbers on our website should a customer need to discuss any issues or problems like this with us.

12. The reminder email was unread because it went into the recipients “junk” email folder.

The method of how your IT systems operate is not an issue for PDC Education Ltd, the terms and conditions you accepted whilst on the website expressly state that emails are deemed received 24 hours after sending from our servers.

13. The school should be entitled to a 14 day “cooling off” period.

You have stated that you should be entitled to a further 14 day cooling off period. Per our terms and conditions at section 5.2, a cooling off period only applies where a customer take out full membership, not in relation to the 14 day free trial period.

14. What if we do not wish to proceed with the subscription after the initial 12 months?

If, at any time up to 30 days prior to the renewal date of your subscription, you wish to cancel, you can do so in writing to PDC Education Ltd, Allerton House, 75 Allerton Hill, Leeds, LS7 3QB, or by fax on 0113 269 7889, or you can email us at members@teaching-resources-uk.com.
